Land Rover VAT Protection

The new rate of VAT is due to kick in on the 4th of January 2011, the rate will increase from 17.5% to 20%. During the peak of the recession the Labour government had reduced the VAT from 17.5% to 15% to help retailers sell consumer consumables during hard times.

In reaction to the imminent increase in VAT car manufacturers have been offering special VAT based offers to help entice customers to place their order before the increased VAT rate comes into play. Land Rover has announced it will be able to offer customers of new build retail cars ordered before 31st December the 17.5% VAT rate. Land Rover customers can avoid the VAT increase and save a minimum of 2.5% if their new vehicle is registered and delivered between 4th January 2011 and 31st March 2011.

John Edwards, managing director, Land Rover UK said, "Protecting against the VAT increase means that customers can order with confidence, secure in the knowledge that the January tax hike will not affect their vehicle purchase. This move demonstrates that the interests of our customers continue to be at the heart of our business strategy."

Land Rover has had a good year, 2010 sales year on year were up 30% and there has been an increase in demand for all its models. The demand for Land Rover spares in Essex has also increased.

The 2.5% deficit will be part paid for by Land Rover and part by the supplying dealer. The new Range Rover Evoque has been unveiled recently, joined shortly after by the 5 door version, which really demonstrates Land Rover’s new design philosophy.
