Since TATA Motors has taken over Jaguar there seems to be a new lease of life in the brand, the XF has been a great success winning many awards and restoring people’s faith in the brand. The Jaguar XJ is an excellent example of the brand’s new creative, technological and design abilities.

As well as selling the Jaguar XK in Sussex, Jaguar has announced it may build a SUV to compete with the likes of the BMW X5, Mercedes M Class and Audi Q7. Jaguar said if an SUV were to be launched it would be aimed to attract younger and more female customers to the brand.

CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, Dr Ralf Speth said, "We need to attract more female and younger buyers to the brand, and we know female buyers are not so keen on big, low saloons and that they like cars in which they sit up high".

Jaguar Land Rover Global Brand Director added that there are no plans to get Jaguar Land Rover involved in a 'global volume race' preferring to describe their brands as in 'a nice niche'. Many analysts are predicting that before a Jaguar SUV hits the showrooms we are more likely to see a smaller Jaguar sports car which would sit below the XK in the line up. There are also plans for the award winning XF to get a small make over and receive smaller diesel engines.

Rumours are circulating that Jaguar is also working on an estate version of the XF, to rival the likes of Audi's A6 Avant and BMW's 5 Series Touring, at the same time a long-wheelbase XF and smaller petrol engine models are likely to be introduced with the rapidly growing Chinese car market in mind.
